2006 G-1 Climax Final: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Satoshi Kojima
Written by The Hater
August 13, 2006- New Japan Pro Wrestling "G-1 Climax 2006" Tournament Final... Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan have quite the history together. They were once one of the most dominant tag teams in history and then Kojima left New Japan to join Keiji Muto's All Japan. Tenzan would end up holding the IWGP Championship three times. Kojima would return in 2005 with the Triple Crown of All Japan and claim the IWGP Championship off Tenzan for four title belts in an epic hour-long war before returning it to him a few months later.
Kojima has returned to enter his old home's annual G-1 Climax tournament. Both he and Tenzan went through their blocks undefeated. During the semis earlier this evening, Kojima survived a fierce challenge by Koji Kanemoto, while Tenzan managed to fight off Giant Bernard (Albert/A-Train). So both old tag partners are 1-1 against each other on the big stage. The heat between them must end eventually; there's no better way to end bitterness between old friends in this business than by beating the crap out of each other.
