September 10, 2006- PRIDE Fighting Championships "PRIDE Final Conflict Absolute"... Let me guess. You saw "Emelianenko" in the title and now you're regretting it because it's not Fedor. Tough luck...
Anyhoo, Fedor's younger brother Aleksander is a pretty decent fighter in his own right, but too bad he was eliminated from the PRIDE openweight Grand Prix Tournament in the first round, by the guy who won the match before this one (I'll let you research the winner, but just for fun I'll tell you the current UFC Heavyweight Champion took the loss *nudge, nudge*). Time to rebuild Aleks' career, and i starts with a guy with a pretty decent resume in his own right in fellow Russian sambo practitioner Sergei Kharitonov, who's beaten better strikers and better ground fighters, but hasn't beaten one who could do both. Aleksander Emelianenko is capable in both aspects.
August 18, 2008- World Wrestling Entertainment "WWE Monday Night RAW"... Takeshi Morishima represented Pro Wrestling NOAH at the Ring of Honor Show in Chicago very recently. Somehow, the former ROH Champion and current GHC Heavyweight Champion is persuaded to stay in Chicago to catch a RAW show. If you're a professional wrestler and are at a WWE event, bring your gear; you never know when you might be called up. Thankfully, Morishima has Harley Race in his corner, and he can convince anyone to do whatever he wants. Also, a Misawa ally in Johnny Ace works the execs at WWE, so it was a good chance Morishima could work in an arena the size of which he'd normally work on a PPV. Charlie Haas used to work in Japan, so he gets to face someone who didn't work in the promotion he worked in (New Japan).
Question, would Vince McMahon let Haas get dropped on his head? It's Morishima's biggest move...
Do you hear it? Can you hear the ROHbots and puro marks hyperventilating in the distance?
Isn't security supposed to confiscate videro cameras?
The Hater will be doing the books for WTPUSA for the month of September.
WTP.com indicated The Hater has been asked for his input on the match making for the next month, feeling him out as the GM of WTPUSA.

Just letting you know, there will be an 8-person trivia tournament, and I am allowing Backstage Powers users to participate. Do make a comment to see if you want to test your mettle in Trivia...
Nike did a fucking HILARIOUS commercial featuring L.T. and Kimbo, so of course, the Internets shat on it.
Why? Because they hate funny, and they hate you. But most of all, they hate themselves: Kimbo Slice is the best goddamned thing to ever happen to MMA in terms of growing the market for the sport, and all any of these MMA "purists" can think to do is rag on Kimbo because, three fights deep into his pro career, he is probably not ready to fight a world heavy champion just yet.
Sometimes, fanboyism gets so retardedly out-of-hand, it seeks to destroy the very thing the boys were initially fans of.
For those who are interested, here's a quote of what I trolled those comments with; the video, of course, is after the jump:
"On the internet, everyone is the world heavyweight champion. i'm dying to see which one of you internet mma supergods are planning on challenging kimbo, since he's clearly nothing but a bad joke. i mean, you guys are all super tough, fridge punching bad-asses, AMIRITE?? Gimme a break."

Before Shinobu Sugawara enrolled Tozawa-juku, he was essentially the Japanese version of Glen Quagmire. After he joined, he became Glenn Quagmire in a gakuran. In what may have been his third match since joining, he won the Open the Triangle Gate Championships with fellow classmates Kenichiro Arai and Taku Iwasa. Apparently his experiences being such a perv helped our favorite cram school obtain the trios belts, because they took them off of a Real Hazard team that features GAMMA, who taunts his opponents with rather unsanitary actions. Shinobu proved immune to such abuse to the point of enjoying out of love for sadomasochism (sick freak...). Anyhoo GAMMA gets his rematch, and he brings the teacher/student HEEL combination of Yasushi Kanda and YAMATO with him to change the dynamic.
