April 30, 2004- GAEA "Yoyogi Limit Break 2004"... I have apparently caught wind of a bunch of complaints about my match selection on this site. First, thank you all for using the myspace link and leaving several inflammatory remarks pointing out alleged racism, chauvanism, and several other words ending in "-ism" in the mailbox. Secondly, meh, I don't have to answer to you. Yes, I'm aware of the irony of what i have just said, so no need to point that out... in the Backstage Powers mailbox .
So for those first two words ending in "-ism" that i typed, I hope to remedy this by posting Amazing/Awesome Kong against a legend she was destined to battle. Aja Kong is the inspiration for Big Van Vader (yes, I enjoy repetitively pointing that out). Aja Kong once no-showed an event and was replaced by a debuting Amazing Kong to the fans' "disappointment", but this new monster of a woman managed to build herself up to be an equal and a tag partner for ERICA. Double Kongs collide and it's gonna hoit.
October 7, 2007- M's Style "MAB~Dream Rule IV"... It's one of professional wrestling's worst kept secrets: Raisha Saeed is Cheerleader Melissa. Now that I got that out of the way...
As some of us know, Cauliflower Alley presented Melissa Anderson with the Future Legend Award in 2004. Interestingly, two years later, the same group handed the same award to a 36-year-old (shouldn't the award sort of have an age limit?) submission mistress, who also happened to help train our favorite cloaked cheerleader: Mariko Yoshida. No, there is no animostiy between teacher and student. But let's just seehow far the student has come in three years since recognition.
August 27, 2005- Pro Wrestling NOAH "Shiny Navigation 2005" Tour... Ah KENTA... you WWE fanboys have certainly heard of him, right? No? Does CM Punk ring a bell? Does Go 2 Sleep ring a bell? Guess who that move belonged to before Punk took it and rode it to the top of the ladder on RAW.
Anyhoo, here KENTA is the GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion, but this is a "non-title match". Just when you expect KENTA to mail it in, you realize who he's facing... Minoru Suzuki, who we've painstakingly built up to be possibly the angriest bastard in the business. Can KENTA make a real wrestler Go 2 Sleep? Or will one of Backstage Powers' heroes just make the champ surrender to his awesomeness?
As we all know, WWE "superstars" are listed as independent contractors and not full-time employees. It's not new, but it does prevent the subparstars from receiving certain amenities other corporations grant their employees, such as health care. Who betta than former independent contractors Kanyon, Raven, and Mike Sanders (he was employed by Vince McMahon???) to bring this lawsuit up? Can this lawsuit protect the talent from being future endeavor'd on a booker's whim?
